On behalf of the Scholarship Committee of the Otsego, Schoharie and Delaware Charities Corporation I am happy to inform you that the committee for awarding the five scholarships has chosen the following recipients in 2012. There were thirty-six extremely well qualified candidates, so we should be very proud of the competition. Eleven were disqualified due to presenting incomplete information.

The Grand Captain of the Host, of the Grand Chapter of NY will be visiting our District on Oct 5th. He will be introduced in Oxford NY. You are all invited and highly encouraged to attend. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet our Grand Line Officers (and this case, quite possibly a future Grand High Priest). Let us show the Grand Captain of the Host how proud we are of our great District, and make him feel welcome.
There will be a dinner at 6:30, with a meeting to follow. Please let me know if you plan on attending the dinner, that I may inform the High Priest of Oxford, E Richard Howard, to enable him to plan accordingly.

Once again the Otsego-Schoharie Masters and Wardens golf tournament was a great success. Eleven teams battled for golf supremacy and bragging rights for the next year, and when the final putt hit the bottom of the cup all the Brothers friends and family gathered for a steak dinner and the awarding of prizes, 50 / 50 raffle and door prizes.
The results are as follows:

Come out and support the 8th Capitular District in their efforts to raise funds for the Royal Arch Scholarship fund. The wonderful event’s attendance will be limited to the first 50 reservations, so please get your reservations in early, so that you may enjoy good food, good fellowship and participate in an event that has never before been presented in the area. Brother Dan Bartholomew of Cobleskill Lodge is offering a Utah State Concealed Carry Permit course on June Thursday, June 4th, 2015 at 6 – 11 pm or on Sunday, June 7th from 9 am – 2 pm, both at Cobleskill Lodge. This is an important course for New York State pistol permit holders because our state does not give reciprocity to any other states permit, therefore no other state gives reciprocity to ours. Utah on the other hand, recognizes 31 other states permits and therefore shares reciprocity with them. This means that with this permit you will be able to carry your handgun concealed in 31 other states plus Utah. The cost for this course is $150.00. That covers all the training requirements, materials, fingerprinting, and photograph and application package. Dan has graciously offered to give all of his fees for these 2 courses to Cobleskill Lodge for our much needed roof replacement and building renovation. If you ever considered getting an out of state permit now is the time! He is offering this course only to Masons in our and the Delaware districts this time. If there is enough interest from others he will consider adding more courses at a later time.
