The Master of Winfield Lodge #581 and I will be hosting a Breakfast on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 394 West Main St, West Winfield, NY 13491.

8:00 AM breakfast
9:00 - 11:00 AM we will have a discussion on merging the Herkimer, Otsego and 3 Oneida Lodges into one District.

The Masters, Wardens, and Secretaries or their representatives are invited to attend. Make reservations no later than June 3 2017 so that I will be able to get enough food for everyone. A small fee of $5.00 will cover the breakfast. If their is some sort of agreement, with a little thought , who knows we might something accomplished. If you have any questions let me know.

On June one at the First Presbyterian Church on Clinton Street in Delhi, the Grand Master will present the new charter for the Delaware River Lodge , starting at 6:30, fellowship will follow in the dinning hall of the church. We need a head count to make sure we have enough food for every body. There will be a free will basket to help defer the cost.

If you would like to attend, we need reservations by Monday May 26.

All incoming Masters are required to be invested prior to their installation via this service and must bring a bible, square, and compasses with them. All past Masters are invited and encouraged to attend. Deputy Grand Master Charles Catapano will be in attendance as well. Event details are as follows:

Date: Thursday, May 18
Time: 5:30pm sharp
Where: The Bump Tavern (at the Farmers Museum) in Cooperstown

Dinner will be served after the event at Otsego Lodge on Main Street in Cooperstown. The menu includes fruit cup, ham, potato casserole, broccoli salad, carrots, rolls and dessert. The cost is $20 per person. You must make reservations with me no later than May 12 for dinner.

Annual Lenten Fish Fries at Schenevus Valley Lodge will commence this Friday, March 3rd. We will be serving from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. (or until sold). This will continue every Friday through Good Friday.
A complete meal with side dishes will cost $10.00.

Schenevus Valley Lodge will be hosting a Table Lodge on Saturday, February 18th. Social Hour will begin at 6:00 p.m., with Lodge Opening at approximately 7:00 p.m.

For those who have yet to attend, at Table Lodge, aka Lodge of Table Instruction, we Open on a modified First Degree, eat an entire multi-course meal, and have a number of toasts to various entities. You must use correct "Table Lodge Speak" using substitute words for common dinner items. Failing to do so requires a coin of the realm be donated to the Brotherhood Fund. Because it is on the First Degree, any Mason of any Degree is invited. It is my personal favorite Masonic activity, and a lot of fun.

The menu, courtesy of Right Worshipful Bruce Reed, is shrimp cocktail, salad, clam chowder, and beef brisket with mashed potatoes for the main course. Cost is $15.00 per person.

As usual, I'll be serving as Wench Master.

Good morning Brothers and friends. Happy Monday!

This past Saturday we held our 1st annual District Charity Gala at Justine's in Cobleskill. I'm pleased to share that our event hosted 30 people and was a success! The food was spectacular, drinks were flowing, great music and we all enjoyed fellowship and time with our guests. Most importantly, we were able to raise $220 to donate to Victim's of Traumatic Brain Injuries. Brother Steve Garreau and I are already planning next year's event, and will finalize details to share with you all in the fall.

We had such a great time, we have already booked our district summer party at Justine's for the last weekend in August. This will be a clam bake, and all are invited. We will share more details in the spring, but I am hoping we have a large turnout!

Keep your eyes on the district calendar for upcoming degree work and events around our district. It seems as more Lodge's are utilizing the district email system to keep everyone informed with their communications and events, and this is great. KEEP IT COMING!

The District Association (formerly Masters and Wardens Association) and Charities Corporation will be holding a combined meeting in late February / early March. We need to discuss changes to the 2 groups, and finalize details for the Murder Mystery Dinner as well as get going on the golf tournament. I will confirm a date and time with our officers this week and will keep everyone informed. It is important that each Lodge be represented at this meeting.

Saturday 2/25 is our District Ritual Competition. Our AGL, VW Adam Sokolowski has provided details to each Lodge, and I'm sure will put out reminders soon. This year's work will be from the EA Degree, so all masons can participate.
